PUC Approves Wholesale Price Cap Increase

Reliability and reserve capacity of the electric grid are enormous concerns for the Texas economy and quality of life going forward. Last year, ERCOT (the grid operator for Texas) and the Public Utility Commission (a policy-making body filled with Rick Perry appointees) commissioned a report by the Brattle Group, an economic consulting firm, to provide recommendations regarding resource adequacy and the best ways to attract power generation investment in Texas. The report was weighty, but I would recommend this summary.
